Spice Dogs

One of Lily's new and favorite things to do is to play with the spice jars on the counter and (sort of) sniff their contents. This can keep her occupied for a long time, which makes me happy when I'm cooking. I've been trying to teach her how to smell the spices, but many times she just ends up blowing air out her nose. Her favorite spices are cloves, rosemary, cinnamon and ginger. At least these are the ones she asks for by name. Most of the other ground-up spices she also refers to as ginger. As most of you know, that's the name of one of our dogs. So, after "sniffing" all the aforementioned spices and pointing out that there are several "ginger" spices, she will randomly pull out jars, asking if they contain our other dog, Be Be. Sadly, I have to tell her that, no, Be Be is not a spice dog.
